And...Begin


Well, Since we last blogged I have been inundated with reasons Not to run. 1. I had some knee pain and I know that my MCL is very easily strained so I took it easy so as not to irritate it . 2. I had a painful bout with my stomach that turned into a trip to the ER which turned into an ultrasound of my gall bladder which turned into a HIDA scan of my gall bladder(radioactive injection...yikes!!) which has now revealed my gall bladder is functioning abnormally so I will be going to see a surgeon next week. Hopefully I will not have to have surgery...but if so it will hopefully not keep me down for long. This pic is of me out and about doing my new fav winter activity...snowshoeing. Loads of fun! I don't know why my mouth was open, I was alone so I don't think I was talking to anyone(maybe myself;)) I did run this past Monday...and again today. I still got the fever.....spring/summer races....bring it on!

Weekly Update

Tuesday I did nothing....Wednesday I ran an easy three miles and Thursday I X trained and did a mile at varying uphill inclines on the treadmill. I also rode about 7 miles on the bike. Rest today because I am having some weird shin pains and then I plan on 6 miles tomorrow!

Well, safe to say I have really been enjoying this new year so far...save for the switch in my work schedule which will require me to work Tuesday through Saturday now. Oh well, I will manage. School started Yesterday(Monday) and Managerial Accounting was on the menu. Enjoyable of course, the prof is pretty cool in a dry CPA kinda way. I like the class, even though 90 % of the rest of the group doesn't. Anyway...Saturday was met with the 6 mile Water Works loop. I love running this loop even though it kicks my butt!!! Monday I attempted a run in the am before school and was forced to walk/jog only 2 miles due to tight tight legs and nagging aches. I took it easy so as not to overdue it. I lazily laid around today (between laundry loads) and went to work...but no running or exercise of any kind. I will be out again tomorrow!

Wednesday and Thursday

Wednesday began with a 30 minute run around town...I probably only went 2 or 3 miles because I was slow. Then I locked my keys in car and that was a debaucle but I got in eventually. Today I X trained and had a blast at the Y...who woulda thought this outdoor girl could enjoy the sweaty smelly gym so much!

Wed: 30 min run

Thurs: 20 min on bike @ 20 mph
10 min on eliptical
1 Mile jog on the Treadmill
Lower body weight work

Back In The Saddle...

With the new year upon us, I have been trying to get my life back in order from the Chaos that is Christmas. I love nothing more than spending time with the fam and eating everything in sight...but twenty pounds later I am not a happy camper. I have set a goal to run a Marathon this year and I will not be stopped! More on that later...but this week is dedicated to getting a little fitness back and eating well. I have already lost three p0unds since the New Year began.

I did the damn thing!

It has been a while, but i just got through with a short run around the neighborhood and was inspired to write. I ran the Turkey Trot, now two weeks ago, and took first place in the Lady Athena division. No real big feat, but for me it meant a lot. I never got a trophy before! I also beat my last 5k time so that made it even better! I have been running three times a week, which is as much as i can fit in right now...but winter is here and i love nothing better than running in the freezing white morning!!!!
